Chapter 20
“ Hope…have you gotten the latest Quinn, download?” Sherrie asked. Hope turned to girlfriend. “ No, my mom says that the lyrics are too adult. So he’s banned from the house.” Sherrie rolled her eyes. “ Your mom, wow. She’s really always on top of things. My mom had no idea, she’s too busy with her boy toy. Thank God.” “ I know, my mom is on top of everything.” Hope stated not really upset by the fact that her mother unlike most of her friends mom was actually involved. Sherrie’s mom had a new boyfriend who happened to be only twenty years old and her mother was forty. She turned to Sherrie who was wearing the latest in Ralph Lauren. “ Does it bother you?” “ What?” “ That your mom’s boyfriend is only twenty?” Sherrie paused a bit. “ Oh..I don’t know. Owens’s nice and all but at times it can be embarrassing because wants to act like she’s twenty. With a the plastic surgery and the boob job. Not to mention all the noise she makes when they have sex.” Hope turned, she looked fashionable in her long white and black striped sweater and short white shorts. “ You heard them?” “ Yes…it was disgusting.” Sherrie stated with all them moaning and stuff. Hope hid her smile. She had heard her Deacon and Felicia having sex once, there certainly had been a lot of moaning. Still, it probably was different from Sherrie. “ You should see the underwear or the lack of it she buys now. It’s gross.” Sherrie picked up the digital cover of another album. Thank god your mother doesn’t date. You are SO lucky.” Hope paused thinking about her mother. “ I don’t know…I think that it would be kind of cool.” “ What would be.” A deeper voice stated. Hope looked up to see Colin coming near them. We looked tall and goodlooking in his worn jeans with a hole at the knee and a long white t-shirt. He held his skate board in his hands. Sherrie premed looking at him fixing her red hair. She had a major crush on him. “ Hope was taking about her mom dating.” “ Oh…” He stated looking at Hope. “ Your mom’s thinking about dating?” “ No. I wish she was. It would be nice for her to get out more. I know that she loved my dad…but he’s gone now.” “ You wouldn’t like it if she were dating a younger man.” Sherrie stated. “ Why would I care?” Hope replied. “ If he were nice to her and made her smile, I’d be happy.” Hope thought for a moment. “ It’s weird because she had this reputation in the past as this ….” “ Man-eater…” Colin replied picking up a jacket. “ Thanks..” Hope said rolling her eyes. “Hey she did. Even my dad had a thing for her. Just think you and I could have been brother and sisters.” “ Gross!” Hope said. Colin hit her with a hat he was carrying. “No, for real. I’ve seen the photos of your mom in the past. That Brooke’s Bedroom was something else. She was something else.” “ She still is…this is why I want her to start dating. Her life can’t be all about my brothers and sisters and Forrester.” “ Yeah, but she really loved your dad. It’s hard for her.” Hope sighed. “ I know.” “ Guys…” Sherrie stated but Colin and Hope continued to talk about Brooke. “ Guys!” “ What?” Hope turned around her waist length hair flew around hers shoulders. “ I don’t think that you have a problem anymore.” “ What?” Sherrie was looking across the street at Insomnia where Brooke was waiting from them. “ Your mother seems to be doing just fine all on her own. My god…isn’t that Christian Deveraux with her?” Hope and Colin turned and looked across the street with Christian was talking to her mother. “ Maybe your mother DOES have a boy toy after all.” Sherrie suggested with a laugh. Hope stared at her mother talking to Christian in wonder. “ Christian Deveraux, he’s truly the man.” Colin stated looking over Hope’s shoulder. “ He’s dated all kinds of fashion models, movie stars. Women love him.” “ I know.” Hope stated looking to see if her mother had any reaction to the man women found irresistible. Colin turned his chocolate eyes to Hope. “ Do you think…” Hope thought for a moment. “ No…I mean this is my mom we are talking about, regardless of her past. If she were dating someone, I would know especially him.” Sherri leaned forward.“ He’s so HOT. Oh my god, just look at him in those jeans.” Hope shook her head, Sherrie was lost in Christian’s good looks but she wasn’t about to be fooled by someone because of their looks. Maybe it was because most of her family looked as if they stepped out of movie themselves. Not to mention that she had spent a great deal of time around both female and male models. The “beautiful” people were sometimes some of the most conniving people ever. “ Do you think what they say about him is true?” Connor asked. “ You know better than to believe most of the tabloids.” “ It still doesn’t explain why your mother is talking to one of the world’s known womanizer.” Sherrie turned her gaze to Hope. “ Are you sure she’s not sleeping with him?”
Insomnia Ten Minutes Earlier Brooke stood in line and decided on a Caramel Macchiato for her order. She had dropped Hope and Sherrie off at the music store across the street and was waiting for them. She and the girls had planned to have lunch at one of the beachside restaurants. Allie was supposed to go with them, however Dena had called and explained that she had found a good family therapist for them and planned a session that day. Brooke was pleased that Thorne and Dena had jumped at the chance to help Allie. Although it did not surprised her, after all they were good parents. She glanced down at her I-Phone hoping to see a call from her own daughter, Bridget. She had tried in vain to get in touch with Bridget the last two days, but her daughter it seemed may be avoiding her. A huge part of her wanted to go over to the beach house to comfort her. Spencer, her ex had come back and Brooke didn’t want Bridget to be hurt anymore than she had already been. But, as Eric reminded her, Bridget was a grown woman and maybe she needed to go through this alone. “ She’ll call you when she’s ready.” He stated. Brooke had tried to pump information from Rick, whom she knew was close to Bridget, however Rick was busy “respecting” his sister’s wishes. Still she hoped to have Bridget’s ear. She worried about her. “ What can I get you?” Sara across the coffee bar asked. “ Your usual Brooke?” “ Um, not today. I think that I want to get the Caramel Macchiato.” “ Anything else?” Sara asked. Brooke eyed the different desserts. Currently there were a dark chocolate mini bunt cake drenched in thick chocolate icing that looked to die for. She considered it for a moment. “ No…I think that will be all.” Brooke stepped to the side and glanced at the sinfully looking desserts. “ You know ignoring that aching feeling inside of you when you really want something is never good for you. Live a little.” A deep voice whispered in her ear. Brooke jumped and turned to find Christian looking handsome as ever with a sinful smile. “ I say that you ought to get dessert. Come on, you know that you want it.” Brooke turned back to the counter to get her coffee. God, having him near her affected all of her senses. “Just because you “want” something in life doesn’t mean that you should have it.” “ Really…I live by another rule.” Christian looked at Sara giving her a wink. “ I’ll have a White Chocolate Mocha.” He turned to say something to Brooke and found that she had disappeared. He laughed, it figured. Waiting for his order, he got it and he walked toward the tables. He found her easily in the back sitting down. Brooke looked so amazingly hot. She had wore light blue jeans and a very simple yet sexy green jeweled collared halter top that left her back bare. With just a hint of lip gloss, her hair was twisted up and pinned while gold dangling earrings adorned her ears. While gold flip flops covered her pedicured toes with a light touch of nude polish. Damn, even her toes were sexy. There were women half her age would couldn’t pull the outfit the way that Brooke did. She looked naturally beautiful, not enhanced or artificial. Her arms were incredibly toned and her tan so perfect. He made his way over to the empty seat at the table and sat down. “ I figured that I’d help you give into temptation. If I recall correctly, chocolate is your favorite.” He placed the delicious smelling chocolate bunt cake in front of her. Brooke looked up from the latest copy of Eye On Fashion annoyed. Didn’t he know she was trying to get away from him. This was the problem with him being here in this town. Everywhere she turned, he seemed to be there. “ Christian, what are you doing?” She looked at him and down at the cake that rested in front of her. “ Helping you.” “ Ruin my diet, no thank you.” She went back to her magazine she had been reading. “ Don’t worry, I’m sure you will run off the calories.” He knew that she loved to run and it was part of her daily exercise routine. “Here, I’ll help you.” He forked a piece of cake and bit. “ Good stuff…” Brooke watched him for a moment. “ I don’t recall asking you to sit down. What are you doing here?” He smiled at her giving her a glimpse of the model perfect million dollar smile. “ I’m meeting a friend.” A friend Brooke thought. She looked past his shoulder when a stunning brunette in a tight white halter top showing off her augmented breast and short shorts came in and looked their way. “ Well, then, don’t let me stop you. You don’t want to keep her waiting.” Christian was puzzled a moment, then he noted Brooke attention, turned and looked at the woman. He turned back to her. “ You are wrong.” “ Listen as you can see I’m busy.” “ With Eye On Fashion? Reading your press? You don’t seem like the type.” “ No…I wasn’t.” Brooke looked exasperated. She sighed for a moment and took a sip of her drink. “ I’m reading the last article about a new fashion house by designer named Ra’Mond who was doing amazing work, there feature was on him.” “ You plan on highjacking his designs?” “ No…just reading if you should know. I’ve seen his work, he’s very talented.” “ Most people would want to crush the competition.” “ I’m not most people. But I am busy so if you don’t mind.” She gave him a pointed look. Christian grinned. “ I see….you know if I didn’t know better, I’d say that you were being surly just to get rid of me. I thought we had a truce?” “ We did…it’s just…” She looked across the street where here daughter was. “ I just don’t want people to get the wrong idea about us.” She whispered. He leaned forward. “ What idea?” He whispered back “ You mean that we are lovers? Just because we shared a piece of cake.” “ Yes.. No…I mean…” She looked somewhat flustered. He smiled. She frowned. He smiled ever wider. “ You know you are so sexy when you are pissed off.” “ Stop it! “ She hissed at him. “ What?” “ Flirting…stop doing that.” He took another bite of the cake slowly removing the spoon out of his mouth. “ Surely, Brooke you know me well enough to know that’s not flirting….not for me.” Brooke opened her mouth to say something when his phone rang. Christian picked up the phone. “ Deveraux.” Gone was the playful playboy look and in his place a business man. “ No…I want you to move on that acquisition today, it’s imperative we get that piece of property. No, give him his asking price.” He glanced at Brooke. “ Excuse me for a moment.” Christian stood to take his call. Brooke couldn’t help to notice him, against her will her eyes examined him. Damn, he looked so good. Nobody should be that good looking. Christian looked like a male model in blue jeans that cupped his toned ass perfectly. Although not “tight” there were all in the right places. He wore a simple white that showed off his amazing toned arms and taunt body. He looked so amazing and so sexy. Brooke found herself gazing at him and it took a moment for her realize, she wasn’t the only one. At least four other women were doing the same thing. “ Oh god….” Brooke was mortified to know that she was staring at him. Looking down, she found herself staring at the cake. Glancing at Christian who was engrossed in his conversation, she picked up his fork and took of piece. She closed her eyes enjoying the delicious treat. God, how she hated him at times, because this was the dessert that she HAD been looking for yet somehow he knew. It was like that in Hawaii, it was like he was in tune and touch with her thoughts and feelings when the truth he shouldn’t be. “ Mom…” Brooke looked up to find Hope coming toward her along with Sherrie and Colin in tow. “ Oh..Hi honey.” Brooke quickly put her fork down. “ Mmmm, chocolate and before lunch.” Hope stated with mirth. “ No…this isn’t mine. I was just…” “Stealing a bit from me.” Christian stated coming over. “ I was trying to tempt her…I see that the chocolate was calling.” Brooke gave him an annoyed look. He laughed. “Aren’t you going to introduce us?” He asked her. “ Oh please do…” Sherrie stated with infatuation only a fourteen year old could have. Colin loud cough sounded like a laugh to Brooke. She didn’t want to. But she knew that it would be strange to Hope if she didn’t. Wiping her mouth. “ Christian, this is my daughter Hope.” She stated pointing to the beautiful young girl. “ Her friend Sherrie and Colin.” Hope turned toward Christian. “ Nice to meet you Mr. Deveraux.” Christian smiled the girl was downright lovely in person as in her pictures. She had the bone structure and height of a model but clearly she had her mother’s grace and dignity. “ It’s a pleasure to finally meet you Hope, your mother has told me so much about you.” “ She has?” Hope looked at her mother. “ Mr. Deveraux and I have been working together. He’s invested in a project that Forrester Legacy is commissioned to do.” Brooke explained. Hope nodded it was explained his mother’s connection. “ Well, it’s certainly wonderful to meet you.” Sherrie said pushing Hope aside to step forward boldly “ I mean…my god, your eyes…is that the real color or are they contacts.” “ God…Sherrie…” Colin stated. “ You need to ignore her, she’s a little boy crazy.” “ I’m am not!.” Sherrie was offended. “ You have some nerve Colin, you are the one who thinks that he’s the man.” Sherrie turned to Brooke. “ You should have heard him. He was talking about all the woman Christian’s dated in awe in fact…” “ We get the drift Sherrie.” Brooke said cutting the teen off. Colin looked at Brooke chagrined. “ I didn’t mean any…” “ Mom, do you mind if we change plans?” Hope stated trying to rescue her friends. “ What do you mean?” “ Well, Colin, Brandon, Lisa and Missy are all going to Ruffies to play video games. We want to know if we can go with them?” Brooke was thoughtful for a moment as a cute African American boy with a Mohawk around the age of 14 came into Insomnia looking like a miniature version of Kanye West. “ Over here Brandon.” Colin called. Brandon came over looking fresh in a gray hoddie with sunglasses and jeans. “ Hey Colin.” He clasped hands with him. He looked over at Hope. “ Hey Hope and Sherrie. Mrs. Forrester, good to see you.” “ Hello Brandon.” She replied warmly. Brandon was Colin’s best friend and although often had different hairsyles hence the Mohawk the young man proved to be a musical prodigy who played at least five different instruments. He was bright intelligent and artistic with a grade point average one couldn’t believe. His father was one of the top lawyers in town while is mother one of Stephanie’s socialite friends. Melina was known for her charitable campaigns as well as for her huge parties and fashion. Brooke knew her well since she was one of Forresters biggest clients. “ Can we go mom?” “ I thought you wanted lunch at beach?” Hope paused for a moment. She and Sherrie was supposed to spent the day with her mother. “ Oh..mom, you are right. Lunch will be great.” She turned to Colin. “ Another day…” “ How long will you be there.” Brooke asked cutting off her daughter. “ Around 2 hours.” Sherrie stated. “ Will your mother mind?” Brooke asked. “ My mother….she’s too busy with Owen to care. As long as I’m out of the house she doesn’t care what I do.” Brooke hated to admit to admit it but that was true about Sherrie’s mother, Julie. “ Who is picking you up?” Colin answered. “ Cassie and she can take us all home. I’ve already asked.” Ruffies was a nice place on the beach that had the latest video games and good food. It was a place for the young teens to hang out. Brooke knew the owner and knew that the kids would be safe. She also trusted Hope and Colin. One thing about Connor’s son, he cared for Hope and would always look out of her. “ Be home in three hours. No later.” Hope beamed for a moment and then her look faded. She came toward her mother. “ Listen, we can go another day. After all we had plans.” “ Go, have fun with your friends. I have some work to catch up on.” “ But mom…” Brooke smiled caressing Hope’s face. “ I’m fine. I promise. Just make sure you don’t go anywhere else. You have your pack?” It was Hope’s diabetic reader and additional insulin. “ Yes. And I promise I’ll be home on time. Hope looked at her mother for a moment and nodded. “ Good…” Brooke went to her purse. “ I’m going to give you some money for food and games.” “ It’s okay. I have my allowance.” “ Let me treat. I was going to treat you today anyway.” Christian watched Brooke with her daughter. Brooke was amazing but what was also telling was the sensitivity of Hope. Most teens would have gone without a second thought to their parent, however Hope was aware of her mother and concerned about her. It proved with kind of mother Brooke Logan Forrester really was. Christian was so busy staring at Brooke that he didn’t hear his name being called until Colin nudged him. Then he turned around. Rick Forrester was striding toward him wearing long light blue and black swimming shorts, and OC t-shirt, flip flops followed by a young boy who had on gray shorts and a white t-shirt that read Rocker.

Brooked turned to see her son. “ Rick? RJ?” “ Hey mom.” He kissed his mother, nuzzled his sister and said hi to Brandon and Colin. Brooke was surprised to see her sons. “ What are you doing here?” “ I’m supposed to meet Christian here. We are taking RJ surfing.” RicK answered. “ Yeah, isn’t it cool mom?” RJ stated before he turned to Christian. “ Hey, I’m RJ.” He held out his hand. Christian looked at Brooke for a moment who glared at him, but that didn’t stop him. “ Nice to meet you. I’m Christian.” “ Yeah. I heard about you.” Brooke turned to look at her young son wondering what in the world he had heard. “ I hear that you are a pretty good surfer. I can’t wait to get to those waves.” “ You are surfing with RJ, pretty cool.” Colin stated with real awe. He knew what kind of surfer Christian was . Brooke looked at Christian for a moment. “ I didn’t know you were taking my son out.” “ Rick and I were going to catch waves. He mentioned his younger brother wanting to come along. I didn’t think you’d mind.” RJ looked at his mom. “ Come on mom. It will be so cool.” Brooke looked at RJ. She knew that he wanted this. He loved surfing and there were times that even though she took him out it wasn’t the same. She wasn’t a guy. But she didn’t like how Christian would be the one with her son. “ I don’t know….” Rick stepped forward surprised at his mother’s hesitation. “ Mom, can I talk to you for a sec?” They moved to the side away from the group. “Don’t do this.” “ I don’t like the position you are putting me in.” “ Mom, you knew that I was taking RJ surfing.” “ Yes, but not HIM.” Rick didn’t understand his mother’s aversion to Christian. “ Listen, Christian’s a friend of mine..” “ An associate and business partner, not a friend. RJ‘s my son and I have a right to know whose he’s going to be with.” “ He’s going to be with me.” Rick stipulated. “You’ve never questioned my judgment before. Why now?” Running his fingers through his blonde hair Rick was a little miffed. “ Look Christian not going to do anything but surf with him. RJ is so excited. Just look at him.” Rick implored. Brooke peaked around and say her son laughing and joking with Colin and Brandon. Then he turned to ask Christian something who had hunched down to talk to him. Brooke watched them for a moment realizing that not only was RJ enjoying his time but Christian really seemed interested in what her son had to say. It would hurt her son if she denied him. Brooke turned her attention back to Rick. She crossed her arms in front of her. “ Fine. Just make sure you look after him every minute.” “ I will mother.” “Every minute. I mean it.” Rick nodded and kissed her on her forehead. “ Stop worrying.” Brooke turned her attention back to RJ and Christian her eyes lingering for a second.
Colin came up behind Hope who had ordered a Chocolate Banana Blast smoothie. “ Can I have a sip?” Hope was busy looking at her mother who was talking to her older brother. Hope nodded passing him a drink over her shoulder as Colin got a straw and took a long hearty sip. “ What’s up?” Colin asked knowing when Hope got a look in her eye, she was thinking something. Hope watched at Christian looked up from RJ and stared at her mother. A true look of longing surfaced on his face for a second before he turned back to her brother. Hope then watched her mother stiffen as if she knew Christian’s eyes were on her. Her mother’s lips tightened for a moment and her eyes turned back to him. If Hope had looked away, she would have missed it, but she hadn’t. She had always had a sense of perception that others her age and beyond just didn’t have. Of course there was a reason for that. In that moment, she saw a look pass between them. She wasn’t sure what the look meant. But one thing was for certain, there was a lot more than business going on between her mother and Christian Deveraux. Colin came back with only half her drink, typical. “ So do you plan to tell me what’s up?” He asked the girl he knew better than anyone. Hope turned to look at him. Her golden eyes held mystery and promise. “ Not until I’m totally sure.” “ Sure about what?” “ Sure I’m not just seeing what I want to see.” Colin didn’t understand Hope’s cryptic message but then again, girl’s were had to truly hard understand at times, even Hope whom he was very close to.
Four Hours Later
Brooke walked into her personal home office, that was just off the front hallway to the right of the front door, carrying a glass of iced tea. She had the office commissioned it years ago for when she worked from home. The office matched her the style of their rest of her home with it’s refined elegant look, it’s rich hues of orange and gold. Framed artwork adjoined the walls as well as photos of her children while a huge comfortable organza sofa was properly placed in the middle of the room. Matching end tables and a coffee table was placed perfectly next to a antique cream colored chaise that she could lounge on while at work. The crown jewel was an antique Louise IV writing desk that she used, which sat in front of the perfect picture window that was dressed in the finest silk window dressing. It was warm, beautiful and fully Brooke. It was a place for her to get comfortable and be able to concentrate on work in her own element. Brooke sat down on the chaise and continued the work that she had been doing the last hour. When she had arrived home earlier and gave Katherine the day off and she had spent time with Logan playing with her son until he had tired out. Finally, she put him down for a much needed nap and turned her attention to her work. She had brought her laptop, forgoing the computer stationed on her desk . She currently was doing research on a short list of persons qualified on running the Forrester fragrance laboratory. She wanted to make sure that she knew about each person to make the best decision about who would be a critical part of her project. Sitting down she continued to work sipping her cool drink and allowing the air from the open French doors off the right side of her office to cool her when she heard the front door open. “ Mom, I’m home!” Brooke heard RJ call out to her. Smiling to herself about her son’s natural exuberance. Brooke stood up and carried the file she was looking at into the living room. “ RJ…” Her son turned to her with excitement in his eyes. “ Guess what? I caught 3 huge waves and was able to ride them all the way out.” Brooke laughed. “ You did? “Yeah..it was way cool. I can’t wait until I tell Tyler. He’s going to be SO jealous!’ He sated with such exuberance. “ Why don’t you go and wash up. I’m going to start dinner in a an hour but I can make you a snack.” “ No need. I’m not hungry.” RJ stated taking his bag and racing up the stairs. “ What?” There wasn’t a time that RJ wasn’t hungry so this was news to her. “ Christian stopped off to get us pizza from Ledo’s Pizza on the way home. I’m full.” He yelled as he went up the landing burping loudly. “ Christian?” Brooke looked perplexed and turned toward the open door where indeed, he was coming toward her from parking his Mustang in her driveway. “ What’s going on? Where’s Rick?” She asked confused at him bringing her son home. “ He got called away in the middle of our outing for something.” “ So you had MY son?” She asked. “ Yes. Can I come in?” He questioned. Brooke paused for a second and then stepped aside. Christian stepped down into her home. He looked around the plush and beautifully styled living room. It was inviting and elegant, everything that spoke about Brooke. “ Your home is lovely.” Brooke was caught off guard for a second having HIM in her home that she shared with Ridge. “Yes…well, thank you. Ridge brought it for me as a wedding gift many many years ago.” “ He had good taste. This is a very nice exclusive neighborhood.” “ It’s a wonderful place for the children to grow up. I raised Rick and Bridget in this house.” She nodded for a second watching him as he moved out of the foyer and toward the living area. “ You still haven’t answered my question.” “ RJ was having such a good time. I didn’t want him to come home. Rick knew that he’d be safe with me.” “ And the pizza.” She demanded crossing her arms in front of her. “ He was hungry, surfing makes you very hungry. I didn’t really think that you’d mind. ” Brooke looked at Christian annoyed but not sure why. What he said made a great deal of sense, her son was having a good time there was no reason for it to stop. “ I just hope that he hasn’t ruined his dinner.” She stated. “ Speaking of dinner, please hold on for a moment.” She said looking at her watch. She took a moment, striding away through the living room toward an open door. Christian watched in thought wondering what all of her anger was really about. The truth was, he had jumped at the chance to bring RJ home. Christian liked kids, and RJ was one cool kid. He found the boy refreshingly honest as well as adventurous. They had a good time together. As he waited for Brooke to return, he slowly looked around her beautiful home and felt it’s warm invitation. Pictures of her family, her mother and father, pictures of her and her sisters and her children graced the tables and the fireplace mantel. He then noted a four tiered frame on the wall which had different photos of Brooke and Ridge from what looked to be different marriages. The first of them on a beach with a very young looking Brooke, the second of her in an elegant cream slik gown being held by Ridge, the next was different, she was wearing a strange pink gown and headdress where as Ridge was wearing an outfit that he wouldn’t be caught dead in, the fourth was them elegantly coiffed staring at each other, Brooke in simply elegant silver blue dress, and finally the last photo was of her in white lace and silk and Ridge in all white in what looked to be Sydney Australia. Brooke walked out of the kitchen where she had put the preparations of dinner in the over to find Christian staring at her wedding photos of she and Ridge. Christian turned toward her and looked at her for a moment. “ You were a beautiful bride.” She studied him and then the photos for a moment. “ That’s all you are going to say?” She stated almost defensively. “What else should I say?” “ Aren’t you going to ask why so many weddings?” He shook his head laughing to himself. “ No. Regardless of how many times you and Ridge tied the knot it was clear that you loved each other very much. He was a smart man, marrying the love of his life more than once.” “ Oh..” Brooke looked away almost ashamed herself. “ But I do have one question.” “ What?” She asked almost defensively. He pointed to the picture of she and Ridge on the Bridge. “ What about this one?” Brooke smiled a little almost against her will. “ That was a very long story.” “ I’ve got plenty of time.” She walked away towards the sofa. “Maybe one day I’ll tell you the entire story. Believe me, it’s an unbelievable story with a very strange ending.” “ Then I definitely want to hear it.” He stated. He turned toward her. “ So, which one was your favorite?” “ Excuse me?” She was confused. “ Which of the weddings was your favorite wedding since you had more than one? ” Brooke was surprised by the question though she really shouldn’t have been knowing Christian the way that she did. It was strange but regardless of their weird relationship, he had encouraged her to talk about Ridge and her love for him. Maybe because they just had fling but the mentioning of Ridge didn’t bother him in the slightest. Brooke thought about Christian’s question sitting on the sofa. She gently clasped her hands together. “ It’s hard to say. Each wedding was vastly different from each other, other than that fact that we loved each other very much. The first wedding, I was so young and my love for him, I thought was the deepest it could go, little did I know that it would be nothing compared to our feelings for each other last wedding. Sometimes, when you are young, you think that you know what real love is. It’s not all the passion or really the romance. Real love is the sacrifice you are willing to make, being there during the truly hard times. Boy, did we have some hard times. It’s and being the rock for each other that matters. It took us many years and several marriages to be able to withstand the onslaught of so much. Some from fate others from outside forces even from out family members but that was our true test that we were meant to be together.” Christian looked at her with an expression that was almost unreadable. “ I guess that truly answers my question about which one was your favorite.” Brooke touched the photo for a moment “ I guess it does. By the time we got to Australia, we had been through so much, there was nothing that was ever going to separate us again. Nothing ever did again…not until Taylor took him away from me the only way that she could. Through death.” Brooke responded with true pain. He reached out and touched her hand gently.“ For that Brooke, believe it or not, I’m truly sorry.” That was the problem, Brooke did believe him. There was so much honestly in his statement. “You really mean that, don’t you.” “ Of course. I see how much he meant to you and to your children.” “ My children?” “ Yes, RJ mentioned him.” Brooke’s heart constricted. “ What did he say?” “ That he missed him. That his father would have loved taking him surfing. He also mentioned having this father and son camping trip. He said it was hard not having a father. That he knew that his uncle Thorne or Nick would go, but at times, he really wished his father was around.” Unwanted tears made their way into Brooke’s eyes. She shook her head. “ I’ll always hate Taylor for what she’s done to my children. I know that Hope and RJ try hard to be brave but it’s so unfair for them to grow up without their father. Not to mention Logan. He won’t even have memories of his father like them. He will never know how much Ridge truly loved him. Taylor took away so much when she decided to get into that car. I don’t care how many letters she writes me, I’ll never be able to forgive her for what she has done.” Christian saw the pain and anger in Brooke’s eyes, when they had been in Hawaii, she had talked about her marriage and her husband’s death. He knew that she still blamed Ridge’s ex-wife Taylor for his death and truthfully, he didn’t blame her for her bitter feelings. Wanting to change the subject from something that clearly upset her, he turned to something less volatile. “ I noticed that you have the files of potential lab coordinators here.” He nodded to the files. Brooke turned to them. “ I was just taking a look and going over the people we might want to interview.” “ Mind if I take a look at them.” Brooke paused for a moment and then handed him the files. “ No…after all we are partners. Right?” “ Yes, we are.” He stated and opened the file and begun to read.
Half and Hour Later Christian and Brooke had taken time to go over the different individuals that they had as contenders lab administrators. He had made some surprising suggestions about some the candidates that Brooke wrote down. They had worked, narrowing their list down to seven potential candidates for the job. Brooke wanted to meet them in person before the initial interviewing process in order to get a read if the project were right for them. Christian agreed liking her hands on approach. “ Of course this means traveling. Three of these people live in Europe, where as one in Japan.” “ You know, I could accompany you on some of these visits. We have hotels in Japan and in Europe. We could stay…” “ I don’t think that it would be a good idea. I can accomplish myself or have Felicia or Rick help me if I need it .” Brooke cut him off. The last thing she needed was to be alone with him. He studied her for a moment.“ I plan to be a very vocal partner in this process.” Christian stated simply but with a commanding tone. “ I know and understand that but….” “ Good.” He interrupted. “ Because I’m investing a great deal of funds in this venture and I don’t plan to stay on the sidelines just because you want me to.” The ringing from kitchen cut the silence in the room. “ I need to get the dinner in the oven.” She had disappeared earlier for 10 minutes to make her preparations. “ What are you fixing?” Brooke paused for a moment surprised that he would ask. “ Tonight’s RJ’s night. Which means he get to pick the menu. Spicy taco lasagna with extra hot salsa, Caesar salad, homemade rolls and double chocolate brownies that my mother made just for this occassions. “ Sounds good.” “ It’s his favorite. I made the lasagna early this morning, all I have to do is put it in the oven and make a salad.” “ Taco lasagna, interesting.” “ You use three Mexican cheese blend instead of mozzarella, and you mix salsa with the ground beef. He loves it. But then again, RJ loves anything that deals with food.” She scratched her nose. “ It’s a good thing that he’s active or he’d weigh a ton. Just give me a moment, I’ve got to check on the food, Hope should be back soon and I want her to eat as soon a she gets home so she can get her insulin.” Christian nodded and turned back to his I Phone quickly reading an e-mail and responding when he heard noise on the stairs. He turned expecting to see RJ who was upstairs playing video games when he saw a young boy around three years wearing a navy blue shirt and black shorts old carrying a stuffed rabbit with blue and white stripes and a book rubbing his eyes. Christian went up the stairs to the top of the landing. “ Do you want to go downstairs?” “ Yes.” The little boy said. Christian picked up Logan in his arms and took him down stairs. The little blonde boy with eyes like his mother starred at him with fascination. “ Hi.” Christian said with a smile. Logan smiled back. “ Hi.” Christian sat down on the sofa with Logan, who had clasped his hands in his shirt. “ Read to me.” The little boy said. Christian was caught off guard for a moment at how trusting the young boy was to someone he hadn’t known. Taking “ Good Night Moon” he opened the book and watched Logan who yawned snuggled in his arms.

Brooke finished putting the parmesan cheese and croutons on the salad before putting it in the fridge. The food was almost ready and soon she’d set the table for dinner. Stopping to pause at the phone, she picked it up and made a call. “ Bridget, this is your mother. I know that you are avoiding me and I’ve tried to respect your wishes but I need to see you. Please call me back or I will have to take matters into my own hands.” Brooke hung up the phone and headed to finish up with Christian before Hope came home. What she found stopped her in her tracks. Christian was sitting on the sofa with her son in his arms. Logan looked happy and content as Christian read him “ Good Night Moon.” Christian’s voice was almost rhythmic as he read her son his most favorite book. Brooke stood there not knowing what to think. A part of her was charmed at seeing her son look so happy and content, yet another part of her resented seeing him so content with Christian. “ It should be you Ridge.” She whispered to herself. It should have been Ridge teaching RJ how to surf and Ridge holding Logan and reading to him. Not Christian, not a twenty something playboy. Brooke closed her eyes to block out the scene playing in front of her.
RJ burst through the kitchen doors. “ Can Christian stay for dinner?” “ What?” Brooke turned …” Ouch!” she had burned her finger against the hot Pyrex dish she had taken out of the oven. She turned toward the sink and turned the facet on to run over her burning fingers. “ Can he?” “ Sweetheart, I’m sure that Christian has other plans.” “ He may not. I’ll ask him…” “ RJ…don’t…” Brooke watched at RJ departed. She turned putting her burning fingers in her mouth and headed out to stop him to find him standing in front of Christian who was sitting on the floor playing with Logan. “ Do you want to stay for dinner? Mom makes the best taco lasagna. It has tons of cheese and spicy salsa. It’s SOOO good. I know that you’ve got to be hungry too because you eat a lot like me.” “ Honey, he might already have….” “ I’d love to.” Christian said looking at RJ giving him a great big smile. “ I just love taco and lasagna. Thanks buddy.” He said giving RJ a pound. He then looked up to see Brooke’s eyes narrowing. “ Great.” RJ stated not aware of the look his mother was giving Christian. “ I’ll go set the table.” RJ disappeared into the kitchen. “ Brooke… I hope you don’t mind.” “ I thought maybe you had plans.” “ Not tonight.” “ Oh…” She looked away. “ Are you sure you are okay with this because it seems that you aren’t.” Brooke looked at him for a moment.“ What’s your game here?” She whispered. “ What?” “ Don’t what me. I don’t get it. First surfing with RJ, then reading to Logan and NOW dinner.” Brooke’s eyes narrowed with suspicion. “ Why are you doing this?” “ Being nice to your kids?” “ Yes!” Brooke hissed. Christian gave her an incredulous look. “ Are you serious?” “ If you think that you can get to me through my children…” “Don’t” Christian stated in a commanding tone that Brooke never heard him use before. “ Don’t go there with me Brooke.” He looked at the doorway leading to the kitchen and then moved toward the French doors away from Logan and his trucks. Brooke followed him. “ What kind of man do you think that I am? The kind to use children to get to you. Brooke, let me assure you I’ve never had to work too hard to get what I wanted from a woman.” He stepped closer to her with a spark of fury in his eyes. “ I certainly would never use any child to do it. I’m NOT that kind of man. I would think because of our past you would know that. I wouldn’t do that especially not your kids. I just so happen to like your children. They are sweet and kind hearted kids. Especially RJ who reminds me of myself his age. He invited me to dinner so unless you find a good reason for me NOT to stay. I plan to do just that. That kid has been through enough and I’m not going to let him down just because you are pissed at me for some reason.” Brooke opened her mouth but nothing came out. She just turned around ashamed and found Hope standing in the doorway of the front door just getting home. She swallowed. “ Is everything okay?” Hope asked looking at her mother and then Christian. Brooke nodded stepping back away from him. “ Yes, honey.” RJ came through the door to the kitchen. “ Hey Hope. Guess what Hope. Christian is staying for dinner.” Hope looked at the man who had been dressing down her mother when she had come home. A part of Hope was very protective of her mother yet her mother had a look on her face that her brother had when he got caught doing something. “ Great! There is always room for more unless RJ and Colin are eating. Thank god he’s eating at home today or there would be nothing left.” Hope stated. Brooke turned to Christian. “ I guess it’s unanimous then, you are staying for dinner.” She plastered on a fake smile and left the room.
Hope finished clearing the dishes and took them into the kitchen where Christian Deveraux, International playboy had his sleeves rolled up and was washing dishes. “ You know, I need to take pictures of this and post it on YouTube.” He looked up and laughed. “ I heard the rule. Mom cook, you guys clean.” “ Yeah but not guest.” Hope stated. “ Though you did have three helpings.” “ I couldn’t help it. Your mom really can cook.” Hope laughed. “ I know. Most of my friends eat from a chef or something but not mom, she cooks at least two to three times a week. RJ and I have a day as well.” “ It seems that your mom is teaching you how to be independent. That’s good.” Hope had enjoyed dinner. RJ told them stories of catching his wave. He also asked Christian a ton of questions that he didn’t seem to be afraid to answer. Hope watched Christian and her mother and over dinner her mother began to relax and even smile as Christian told a tale of how he broke his arm when the first time when he was eight. She even looked sad when Hope had asked why his nanny and not his mother had gone to the hospital. He simply explained that his mother had been out of the country on vacation. RJ had stated that if it had been their mother, she would have come back. Christian then looked at RJ and stated that he knew. Their mother loved them very much. “ Okay Hope, we are almost done.” He stated as she dried the dishes. RJ came into the kitchen to get the broom. “ Logan’s so lucky, no dishes for him.” He stated before leaving. Hope looked at Christian for a moment and then spoke softly. “ You know, I heard you and my mom when I came in.” Christian turned to Brooke’s pretty daughter. “ You heard what?” “ She didn’t want you to stay? How come? That’s NOT like her.” “ Well, your mom is very protective of you. You just met me so she probably has some reservations about me being around you all.” Hope put a glass away. “ Maybe…but I’m not sure that’s it. I mean it’s not like you don’t know each other. You do.” “ Yes, because we are going to work together.” “ Is that it?” Christian studied her. “ Yes. That’s all. “Nothing’s going on between you and my mother.” “ Going on…as like…” “ Like you like her.” Christian almost laughed at Hope, she was so protective. “ Of course I like your mother. She’s smart, creative and…” “ No.” Hope put her hand on her hip. “ No..I mean LIKE my mom as like you want to date her.” Christian was stunned. Could Brooke’s daughter have seen something. He had been so careful at dinner NOT to look at Brooke too much and certainly not to touch her. “ Hope…” He cleared his throat. Damn, he hated lying to the girl but he had no choice. “ Your mother and I are going to work together on a project. I think that she’s a good person and very beautiful. But…uh…she’s much older than me. The women I’m interested in are much closer to my age, okay?” Hope looked at Christian for a moment and stunned him with her comment. “ That’s too bad. Maybe you are what my mother needs.”
Brooke stood outside in the front of her beautiful home with a small sweater wrapped around her. She had told RJ she was going out for some fresh air but truthfully she had gone out to hide the stupid tears that filled her eyes. She hated herself at the moment. Tears of God’s sake. They ought to be for her love her life, NOT because the man she had a forbidden weekend with had told her daughter she was too old for him. Brooke had been heading into the kitchen when she heard Hope asking Christian if he were interested in her. Brooke had been stunned and listened to what Christian had stated willing to interrupt them if she had to when she had heard his answer. Hurt, she fled not wanting to hear Hope’s response to his own because deep down it was true. She was too old, he was too young. She had lived her life. Had the love of her life and lost him. She ought to feel glad that he finally understood what she had been saying when she left him in Hawaii. But deep down she felt foolish. But then again, this is what she wanted right? For him to feel this way. But then why in the world had he pressed her for those forbidden kisses. A single tear formed and rolled down her cheek. “ Brooke…” Brooke turned to see Christian come down the front stairs. She quickly wiped away her tears. “ Hey, are you alright.” He said with concern. He came toward her and reached to touch her face when she back away. “ What’s wrong?” “ How dare you. How dare YOU be here?” All the pain and resentment and hurt came pouring out of her. She was furious at him and herself.” “ Brooke, what’s wrong? “ Ridge should be here.” She turned on him. “ He should be with RJ recounting stories. He should be reading to Logan. He should be with Hope washing the dishes. But he’s not.” Tears ran down her face. “He’s not here but YOU are. How dare you come into this house with his children and try to insulate yourself. Wasn’t it enough that you been with his wife having her anyway that you liked. You want to steal HIS children too? My god, what kind of man are YOU! What kind of sick twisted game are you playing!” Christian was stunned by the pain raging out of Brooke her arms shaking with anger. “ I see.” Was all he stated with his lips pressed tight and a cold unreadable expression came until his face. “ It seems that I’ve over stayed my welcome and it’s time that I go.” “ Good.” Brooke answered turning away. “ You know that I’ve never tried to make you forget your husband or even compared myself to Ridge. Not the entire time we were together that week in Hawaii. I know what you had and respected it. Those children in there are living breathing symbols of the love you had for him. I only meant to be good to them because they are yours and they deserve it. Believe it or not, I didn’t have any family dinners growing up. Maria wasn’t that type of mother as you know, so when I had a chance to spend time with a family, YOUR family, I jumped it.” The anger then receded from his voice. “ However, I did not realize how much pain it would cause you. For that, I am sorry. Please tell the children, thank you for their kindness.” With that he took out his keys and headed for his Mustang leaving Brooke with tears. “ Christian…” She whispered as she watched him drive off. This was what she wanted? Right? For him to leave her. But why in the world did she feel like she had stabbed herself in the heart. She covered her eyes with her hands crying, not noticing that Hope stood outside of the second landing balcony watching the entire episode with adult eyes.
Later that Night Hope lay on her bed looking at the reply that she had gotten to a text she had sent to Colin. I need to talk to you it’s important, she had texted. TTLY tomorrow. Got to do the family thing. RU Okay? Colin had replied. She replied that she was fine and they’d talk tomorrow before school. The last thing she wanted was Colin to worry about her. Rolling over onto her back she replayed the scene between Christian and her mother over again. Clearly something had gone down between them. He had mentioned Hawaii. Her mother had gone to Hawaii six months ago for business that was supposed to be a weekend that turned into a week. She also had been acting strangely when she returned, more quiet than normal and with a tattoo on her ankle. Now, Hope had an idea of whom her mother had spent the week with. Whatever had gone down between her mother and Christian had been much more than sex. She had seen the pain in her mother eyes as well as the hurt from Christian when they had talked to each other. Her mother had been full of pain yet something else. There were feelings there. Feelings, she was sure her mother would deny. Feelings that proved to Hope that there was life after her father. It was time. Time her mother stopped living just for her and her brothers and sisters but for herself. Now, Hope was realist, there were certain problems. Christian was known to be a playboy and he was younger than her mother. However, Hope had seen him at dinner. He had been very comfortable with her and her brothers. Not only that RJ liked him and so did Logan. Maybe there was more to him, there had to be for her mother to have feelings. One thing for certain, Hope was going to do her best to find out the truth and help her mother to see the light.

Chapter 21 The Logan Women
“ I’m telling you dinner was fantastic.” Katie expressed as she came through the front door of her beautiful manor house. “ You really picked a great restaurant this time. The lamb chops with the goat cheese was cooked to perfection. Not to mention the Russian caviar. My god. ” She told her husband. “ I’m glad that you enjoyed it sweetheart.” Andrew stated pulling his beautiful talented wife into his arms. Katie surely was beautiful, wearing a stunning black single strapped cocktail dress with a sapphire blue bow on the right sleeve that matched the sapphire and diamond dangling earrings that he had given her as an anniversary gift two years ago.. Her dark hair was pulled back in stylish ponytail to show off her beautiful face. “ I think that Justin and Vanessa enjoyed it.” “I always love when they come into town.” Justin had been a friend of Donna’s in high school therefore had known Katie most of her life. “Plus it doesn’t hurt business, does it?” He reminded her with a smile. His wife never missed an opportunity to promote Forrester. Katie kissed her husband. “ No, it doesn’t. Forrester is getting very good coverage in Eye On Fashion, we ought to keep our press providers happy.” She whispered. Justin Barber was the second in command for Spencer Publications. He and his wife were good friends of the family. “ He’s done amazing work for Karen and her brother, Bill. Although from what I hear Bill Spencer Jr. doesn’t accept anything but the best.” Andrew added. “ No, he doesn’t.” Katie stated remember the very handsome devilish Spencer heir she had met once in New York on business. Women had been throwing themselves at him like they were desserts on a platter, while he had looked at them as if they were nothing but mere playthings for his pleasure. She had disgusted by it all. Bill Spencer Jr, was nothing like the gracious Caroline, or the kind Karen, he was very much like his late father, a ruthless shark willing to do whatever it took to get what he wanted.“ Still it was good to see them.” “ And to hear about their news.” Andrew stated pulling her into his lap before slowly kissing her. God, she never got tired of him. He was so sexy, funny, smart and loyal. He was everything that she wanted in a husband, friend and life partner. “ About their baby…I’m so happy for them.” She laced her fingers with his. “ I guess it makes me kind of think.” Andrew looked up at his wife. “ Think about what?” “ About us.” She sighed. Andrew’s eyes lit up. “ About us having a baby?” Katie smiled. “ Maybe. More and more I’ve been thinking that it’s time we start a family.” Joy soared through Andrew. He and Katie had wanted to wait some time before they had children, they had been happily married the last six years. Their careers kept them busy but now they were established in their jobs and had created a wonderful home together. It was perfect. The manor house was 40 years old, built far enough away from the city and others to give them the quiet that they both longed for. The two story stone structure was picture perfect made with lovely multi-colored slate and stones, huge fireplaces, and a new sauna and sunroom they had built onto the first floor. Katie had the home decorated with it’s cottage style décor with the soft silk floral fabrics, lace window treatment, and the color scheme of burgundy and bright yellow hues. The front curved door opened up into the huge living room, on which the right rested a raised platform in which they had intimate table for breakfast in front of a large picture window. A huge kitchen was located in the back of the house that connected to a rectangular dinning room attached to French doors that opened out to the back. Next to the left of the entry, there was a home office in he often stayed up late working while the upstairs held two quest bedrooms, Katie’s personal massage room and one master bedroom. Nestled in the trees their home was perfect and beautiful. It was everything that they wanted just recently they even had commissioned a landscaper to redo their back and created a small pond and small waterfall off the side of it for them to look at when they dined out back. Every picture was placed perfectly and every find found by Katie to place where she instinctively knew where it belonged. Often he teased her she should have gone into interior decorating instead of PR. “ Are you sure?” He asked not wanting to rush her. He had always wanted children, but never wanted to rush his wife. When he had met Katie she had been wrapped up in wanting to prove herself in a the business world, being a wife and a mother hadn’t crossed her mind. Part of it was because deep down she had some insecurities about herself because of what she had gone through as teenager. His wife simply didn’t understand what a rare find she was. Katie wrapped her arms around him. “I think that it’s time. I look at Storm’s and Brooke’s children, how wonderful they are. Maybe it’s time for us. Although…” “ Although what?” “ I’m sure that Donna won’t see us wanting to have a baby as a slight against her happy news with Nick.” Andrew was not a huge fan of Katie’s sister Donna who if he were asked had her insecurities. “ It doesn’t matter what she thinks, we know why we are doing this, don’t we.” Katie looked deeply into Andrew’s big brown eyes. “ It only matters what we think.” She leaned down and kissed him on the bridge of his nose, then on his lips. “ You are so right.” She began and loosen this tie. “ I think that tonight is the perfect night to practice.” Andrew stood up and swept her up in his arm. “ Oh!” Katie giggled as he walked toward and then up the curved stairs up the second floor to the double doors that opened up into their bedroom. The yellow and white hued room with fancy wall paper was artfully decorated with the best silk striped window dressings and matching bed linen. It held a huge master bath, walk in shower, personal dressing room with vanity and walk in dressing room and closet. A white marbled fireplace was located directly across from the four poster bed while next to matching mahogany chairs and a reading lamp that Katie had found as a steal at an auction house on a trip to Italy. On the left side of the bed was a picture window was another find an antique writing desk that she had given him as a gift his last birthday. Andrew took his wife and sat her down on the plush crimson and yellow bench at the end of their bed. Katie looked at him as he knelt down at her feet. He slowly loosened her high heeled shoe sliding it off her feet. Katie sighed as he slowly massaged her foot and kissed her heal. “ Mm…that feels good.” “ That’s not all that is going to feel good.” He whispered to her as his hand slowly slid up her thighs to her garters. His fingers slid up under one of the garters to unhook it. Katie stood up as he rolled it down her thigh then removed the other in the same fashion. He leaned forward and kissed her thighs as he hands moved upward to find the lace panties she was wearing. His fingers gently moved the loose garment aside and slide into her warm center. “ Oh…” Katie moaned parting her thighs as his finger moved inside of her. He pleasured her for a moment feeling her essence and listening to her sighs of pleasure before he slid out of her and slipped her panties down. Katie looked at her husband, her mouth parted as a sigh escaped. Her nimble fingers pulled him up and unbuttoned his shirt. He in turn unzipped the side of dress and watched with pleasure as it slid to the floor. Her bountiful breast were captured in a nude and black lace bra. He watched his wife as she unhooked the front and it dropped on the floor. “ You are so beautiful.” He murmured as he cupped her breast and captured a taunt nipple in his mouth to suckle. Katie’s head fell back and as she loosened her hair. Her body reacted to him as he pushed her back to the bed. Using her feet, she pushed his pants down as his body landed on top of hers. Katie wrapped her legs around his waist as he pushed slowly inside of her waiting heat, his mouth suckling at her breast. She clenched around him and pushed against him. Together they moved, their hands clasping, he moving in an dout of her. Their moans of delight until she climaxed hard and he followed her.
Laying together their bodies intertwined they lay sated. Katie’s head rested on Andrew’s chest as she moved her leg up on his thigh. She stroked his chest. “Mmm…that was nice.” “ Nice.” Andrew looked down at her. “ I must be loosing my touch if it was only “nice.” Katie laughed. “ Don’t worry it was more than nice my very sexy husband.” “ Good… and if we made a baby that’s a bonus.” Katie nestled against him and sighed. “ Yes, it would be nice. A nursery right across the hall. A baby would be just perfect.” Andrew cupped Katie’s face and leaned down to kiss her as they basked in their love for each other.
Katie slowly woke that next morning at 7:00 smiled and rolled over to find the bed empty next to her. “Andrew…” she sat up clutching a sheet to her and noticed at the foot of the bed where a tray rested next to a rose on their padded bench. Sliding out of bed, she pulled a silk robe to move toward bench where a carafe of orange juice, fresh fruit and sweet potato scones were on a platter along with a note from her husband. He had gone into work earlier but had stopped by her favorite café for scones, fresh biscuits and lemon cur with cream. He had also gotten enough for her sisters who were coming over early that morning. Katie smiled and poured herself a glass of juice as she walked into the bathroom munching a piece of watermelon. The large porcelain bath in the middle of the bathroom beaconed to her as she turned the facet on to prepare for her very busy day. First thing, she had a meeting with her sisters in which she was going to give her idea about Donna’s charity event that would no doubt knock their socks off. The phone rang, Katie picked up the old style gold phone in the bath. “ Hello, Deacon. No, I’m glad that you called. There is something that I need you to do for me....

I just saw that you started writing again! I haven't been on the board for a while. I'm sooo happy. This is really my fav story!
Christian is really sweet. He really wants to know Brooke's children, spend some time with her family. Christian has been nothing but supportive. He has really helped Brooke dealing with her grieve. And it is obvious that Brooke is starting to fall voor Christian all over again. I'm so hoping that they get back together. And for real this time! And I'm so loving your version of Hope! But I'm not so sure if Hope should be the one to get Brooke to see the light. Although I think it's really amazing that sense of perception she has. And the way you describe RJ and Logan... They are all amazing kids! And you write Brooke the way that she should be (although the B&B writers don't always do just that) a wonderful mom!

I'm probably repeating myself, but I am soooo glad you have come back to this story. It is one of my favorites and I'm loving how you are introducing some of the newer characters like Justin into the fabric of the story.
I also love your Hope. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she can help Christian to convince Brooke that a relationship with him isn't a betrayal of Ridge's memory (gag me for actually saying that, personally I'd dance on his gravestone)
Please keep these great instalments coming

I had to copy Jill's post because I completely agree with her and why try to say it myself when she says it better.
However, I think a betrayal of Ridge's memory would be one of the high points of this story.
