Bridget stood outside on the balcony looking out at the view after Deacon had left. It was a close one. If Oz had walked in and had seen Deacon...She didn't want to think about it. She had to be more carefull. Deacon couldn't just be showing up like that. It was too risky. Of course she knew deep down she wanted him to. She hated the thought of never being in his arms again. It killed her. "No No I have to." Bridget told herself. "I have to make sure this never happens again." How she was going to do that was another thing. She was powerless to fight it. Whenever Deacon kissed her...that was it. That's all it took. Bridget's thoughts were interupted when she heard someone behind her. She turned and saw Brooke there. "Hi Honey." greeted Brooke. "Mom." "I wanted to see you. How are you feeling?" "Okay I guess. The doctor thinks I'll be fine." replied Bridget as she looked down at the floor of the balcony. "Honey are you okay? You want to talk?" asked Brooke concerned. "I'm fine. I'm fine." said Bridget. Brooke sighed. "Bridget I know what's going on." "What are you talking about?" "I'm talking about Deacon Sharpe." "What?" "I read about him in your diary." explained Brooke. "How you met him...how you fell instantly in love.." "You read my diary?" said Bridget horrified. "Why did you read my diary? How did you find..." "I was worried about you after your accident. I saw Deacon in your hospital room. I had to find out who he was. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to invade your privacy or anything....I just wanted to find out what was going on." "Nothing is going on." insisted Bridget. "Honey you've been secretly seeing him for almost five months. He told me." "He's lying." said Bridget turning away. "I'm not seeing him. I haven't been seeing him." "It's okay. I understand. Honey why didn't you tell me..." "There's nothing to tell!" exclaimed Bridget. "Okay. I'm fine. There's nothing wrong. I wasn't having an affair with anyone. Leave me alone!" "Bridget please...I can help you...If Oz is..." "He's not." snapped Bridget. "I don't know what you think you read in my diary but you misunderstood. I'm not seeing anyone. I have no idea what you are talking about. Oz is not doing anything." "Really?" said Brooke crossing her arms. "Your friend Betsy told me she once saw Oz grab you pretty violently and yell at you." Bridget said nothing. "She said she once saw a bruise on your lower back. You told her you got it playing tennis. Bridget you are an excellent tennis player.." Tears formed in Bridget's eyes. "It was nothing." "No it wasn't nothing." said Brooke turning Bridget around to face. her. She put her hands on the side of her arms. "Bridget please tell me what's going on." Bridget shook head. "Nothing is going on. Please drop it. Please. Just go. I'm tired. I need to lay down." "Okay." said Brooke. "I just want you to know that I'm here for you. I love you. I just want you to be happy." Bridget nodded and said nothing. Brooke hugged her and turned and left. She headed out the bedroom door and down the staircase. She was worried. Bridget could deny it all she wanted. She knew something was wrong. For some reason Bridget was hell bent on protecting Oz. "Hi Brooke." greeted Oz pleasantly as he saw her. "Oz." replied Brooke politely while wishing she could strangle him. "Visiting Bridget?" "Yes. I wanted to see how she was. She's been through so much..." "Yeah I guess." said Oz unimpressed. "Listen I don't know if Bridget told you but next week we're having a dinner party. Since Bridget missed our anniversary and I was having a business dinner party anyway...I figured I'd combine the two." "Oh that sounds nice. But don't you think it's a little too soon?" "Too soon?" "Bridget was in a horrific accident and she could have died. She was in a coma for weeks. She just came out of it. Her body's still healing. She needs time to recuperate." "She'll be fine." said Oz ignoring Brooke's concern. "It's just a dinner party. She's planning the whole thing." "Planning it?" "Yeah I asked her to." You mean you told her to. thought Brooke to herself. "I see. Well I guess we'll see you then. I have to go." "See you then." said Oz. Brooke turned and walked over to the door. It took all she had not to want to slam Oz's head into it. She could kill him. Making Bridget plan a dinner party after she just came out of her coma. There wasn't anything she could do. Bridget denied Oz was abusing her and Brooke had no way of proving it. Ridge was still waiting to hear back from the investigator he hired. Hopefully that would turn up something. She hoped it did. The sooner she could get Bridget away from this monster the better.
