Yay! Brooke and Nick have seen each other, talked and finally cleared up their misunderstandings. About time! I'm glad they both took responsibility about their misunderstandings...and then Nick took the lion's share, realizing that he played an even bigger part by making his relationship with Carla seem more than what it was. Loved the line, "we were both stupid and scared and stubborn". That about says it all. LOL. I'm going to enjoy them getting acquainted with each other outside of the island setting. Nick definitely has more to get used to since he moved to L.A. and will be dealing with Brooke's family and environment. I don't think Brooke is going to be able to wait two weeks. Funny how she already changed from a month to 2 weeks after being with him just a short time. It's a noble goal, but there is too much love and connection between them.
Liked the little nod to Breacon chemistry even though their relationship doesn't exist in this B&B universe. Deacon and Brooke are much closer in age than Deacon and Bridget and it seems right that he would be attracted to her physically. Deacon had a lucky day with being able to feel up Tatiana and get an eyeful of Brooke. LOL!! I think Deacon does care about Bridget (may even love her), but he is definitely not in love with her. Even though Deacon understood what Brooke was trying to say by ending the marriage so they'd both be better off, Bridget sure doesn't have the maturity or the distance from the situation to see it that way. She'd only think that Brooke was trying to control/ruin her life. It will be interesting to see where this dynamic goes. Of course I love how you write for Deacon.
Bridget can be a real little bitch, can't she? To even utter, "are you trying to prove Stephanie and Taylor right?"....oh, the nerve. In essence she is calling her mother a slut - for sunbathing in the nude in the privacy of her own home.
The Ridge/Brooke scene in her bedroom was very powerful. It must have been cathartic for you to remind us of how the romantic history between Ridge and Brooke was always accompanied by disappointment. It was heartening to see Brooke be strong and see the big picture of their patterns even while she still loves him. His over-confident pushiness drove her away as much as her love for Nick did.
I was a little surprised at how open Megan was with Tatiana about the history of Brooke/Ridge/Taylor. Megan doesn't trust Deacon with any personal information, with reason, but she trusts Tatiana - a relative stranger. Perhaps Megan was giving Tatiana the benefit of the doubt, but I could've handled Megan's spilling of all that juicy background if maybe she were tipsy. Tatiana hit the gold mine by being friendly to Megan!
We got to see the Ridge flip-flop first hand when he charmed up Taylor after just being rejected by Brooke. And even though Taylor's actions are truly desparate and pathetic, you know she'd psycho-babble her way into knowing what is "best for Ridge" and "who he truly loves". Barf. James should have gone to see a movie because all his time spent with Taylor was wasted. And geez, didn't take much encouragement for Ridge to Tatiana. Help yourself! Have to hand it to Tatiana though - her plan would really hurt Taylor.
Thank you for entertaining us! Love your fiction.
